This parent support group was formed in 2009 and approved by the ISD Special Services administration. The group's primary focus is to provide support and seminars for special needs parents.

This committee takes head shots and interviews all new staff at IHS and then provides a laminated sign for each staff's classroom or office. These laminated signs are used by staff to get to know new staff members and by students to get to know their teachers and other IHS staff with which they interact.

The Best Practices and Standards of Excellence committee ensures that our PTSA is adhering to recommended WA State PTA best practices by providing best practices information to VPs and committee chairs throughout the year. The committee also prepares and submits all applications annually for State PTA awards, including PTA awards, communication strategy, website, newsletter, etc. Recently, IHPTSA has achieved the following: 2017-18 Platinum PTA Award. These awards reflect the efforts of the whole PTA including president, VPs, committee chairs, and volunteers.

The IH PTSA Community Service Program encourages all IHS students to become active, engaged members of our community. Graduating seniors who complete the required hours of volunteer service will be recognized with a Community Service Honor Cord at graduation.

The Healthy Student committee works in collaboration with IHS Administration, law enforcement personnel, and various community associations to reduce risky teenage behaviors by increasing student and parent knowledge/awareness of the dangers and legal consequences associated with such actions.

New Family Connections
New Family Connections

The New Family Connections Program, a program of the IH PTSA, was formed to help families new to the Issaquah School District smoothly transition to their new community and assist students who are newly enrolled at Issaquah High School. The program offers shared IHS and Issaquah resources, social events throughout the year and pairs new families with an ambassador. An Ambassador is an established resident of Issaquah, with an IHS student.

Reflections is a National PTA program that includes visual arts, music, photography, literature, choreography/dance, and film/video. Occurs in the Fall and involves being on a committee that selects the top 12 IHS entrees that go on to the state competition.

The Issaquah High PTSA encourages students to continue their education after graduation.
Any student applying for the PTSA Scholarship must be in good standing at IHS and demonstrate a commitment to furthering his/her education.
The IH PTSA awards a scholarship of $1,000 each to five graduating seniors.

We will be treating staff to a luncheon, breakfast, latte delivery and several other treats. Please watch your email for ways you can sign up to help and donate to make sure we thank the amazing staff.

The PTSA hosts a luncheon for the entire school staff at the beginning of the school year. The Fall Staff Luncheon is generally served the Tuesday before the first school day. All luncheon items are donated or purchased from the PTSA budget.

Volunteers are asked to help provide food and drinks for the staff once a month and need only sign up for the month(s) they can help. The volunteer delivers the food to the office before 2:00 pm on the day of the meeting - no hands-on service required. Parents invest a small amount of time for a whole lot of gratitude from our staff!
